Clickbait: 点击诱饵 (diǎn jī yòu ěr)

Clickbait is a link on a website designed to draw your attention and make you click! 

“点击诱饵”（diǎn jī yòu ěr）指的是网站上的链接，用以吸引你的注意，让你点击。

As we said, 'bait' is something used to attract fish when you are trying to catch them. Clickbait is a link on a website that's there trying to attract you – to make you click on it. 

正如我们所说，“诱饵”是钓鱼时引诱鱼儿上钩用的。“点击诱饵”指的是网站上的链接，试图吸引你的注意，让你去点击。

You will feel a little like you've been tricked when you click on clickbait. 

如果你一不小心点击了链接诱饵，你会觉得被骗了。

The main aim of the clickbait is to get hits to a site rather than genuinely informing you. 

“点击诱饵”的主要目的是让人去点击某个网站，而不是真的告诉你什么信息。

Examples: 

1. ní ěr, bú yào diǎn jī nà ge liàn jiē, nà zhǐ shì ge "diǎn jī yòu ěr", qí shí shá yě bú shì.

尼尔，不要点击那个链接，那只是个“点击诱饵”，其实啥也不是。

Don't follow that link Neil – it's just clickbait. It'll be some nonsense. 

2. wǒ zài wǎng shàng cóng lái dú bù liǎo cháng wén. wǒ zǒng shì bèi “diǎn jī yòu ěr ”fēn xīn, diǎn jī dào bié de wǎng zhàn shàng qù 

我在网上从来读不了长文。我总是被“点击诱饵”分心，点击到别的网站上去。

I can never read a long article online. I'm so distracted by the clickbait I always end up on some other site.
